  • WHAT WILL WE DO

For this 3rd VV Action with Refugees from Ukraine, our team will work in refugee shelters and schools in the region that receives the most refugees from the war.

In April 2022, VV took a group of specialized volunteers to the region that received the largest number of refugees from the Ukrainian War, in Kraków, Poland. Once there, we identified their first needs, partnered with refugee shelters and helped two local schools that took in refugee children. In August of the same year, we returned with administrative, structural and educational support (in partnership with Escola Hub) in a second phase of action.

For this 3rd VV Action with the Ukrainian War Refugees, our humanitarian action will be to continue the care for Ukrainian refugee children in this school in Kraków, Poland. Then our team will head to an area close to the border with Ukraine where we will provide assistance in refugee shelters. Our mission will be to help Ukrainian refugee women with psychological, logistical and legal support. As these shelters where we are going to work were recently built due to the war, our mission will also be to help in their structuring, organization and administration, generating logistics that allow them to receive, welcome and guide refugees in the best way. In addition, of course, to helping directly with the reception, mental health, rights and routine of the refugees who are there.

    PARTICIPATION BY ANDRÉ FRAN:

This action will have the participation of the journalist, André Fran. In addition to co-founding VV, Fran was director and presenter of TV series such as "Não Conta lá em Casa", with trips to Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, North Korea, UN mission in Haiti, humanitarian expedition to Japan after -tsunami among others, and "Que Mundo É Esse", from Globo News, with which he went to Ukraine during the Euromaidan revolution, to the post-Russian annexation Crimea, Chernobyl, Kyev, among other relevant topics around the world. The idea is that Fran, in addition to working on the volunteer team, share some of her experiences with the group and impart basic knowledge on how to record and share content in scenarios of war, conflict or instability.

NOTE: VV can modify this action, the schedule or the type of help to be taken at any time.

  • ABOUT THE DESTINATION

Ukraine's war enters its second calendar year as Europe's worst military conflict since World War II. And the worst: there is no prospect of an end so far. On February 24, 2022, Russia began attacks on Ukrainian territory that even included bombing the capital Kiev. An attack ratio that not even the greatest experts could predict.

In addition to casualties on both sides, destruction of entire cities, fear and all the terror that goes with war, we had motions at the UN, sanctions, threats of nuclear bombs, annexation of regions of Ukraine by Russia and more than 10 million refugees and internally displaced people!

It is in this scenario that we will act.
