  • Indigenous peoples represent the biodiversity and richness of the Amazonian culture and our country! Indigenous people from 15 ethnic groups and another 3 uncontacted, the so-called isolated indians, are located only in the state of Acre. The Noke Koi people, originally from the Amazon, are today in indigenous lands in the municipalities of Cruzeiro do Sul and Tarauacá, in the north of Acre. They live very close to their ancestors and ancestors: hunting, fishing, contact with nature, traditions and a strong musical presence. Today, about 10 villages are part of the Noke Koi indigenous people.

In this VV mission, we will work with the Vari Isko village, located on the banks of the BR 364, which connects Rio Branco and Cruzeiro do Sul. Volunteers will gather important data for the continuity and effectiveness of the Vari Isko village's actions, listening to local leaders and the community. The action is based on active listening, with communication, participation and feedback from all involved. VV will organize an entire field research to be able to listen to the indigenous people of the Vari Isko village, and understand their main needs.

We need volunteers able to interview and collect important data for the continuity and effectiveness of actions with the Vari Isko village. And, of course, volunteers able to listen to this people full of wisdom. Listen with the heart, listen with emotion and help make a difference for our ancestral peoples.
