Action VV Museum of Tomorrow + Instituto Amparando R$179.90

R$179.90Price

The purpose of this action is to promote a morning of knowledge and fun with children and young people living in the Bico do Urubu community, in Nova Iguaçu, assisted by our partner NGO, Instituto Amparando.

  • WHAT WILL WE DO

In this VV Action, in partnership with the Amparando Institute, we will take the children and young people assisted by the NGO to the Museum of Tomorrow, a museum dedicated to science located in the city of Rio de Janeiro,. It will be a fun opportunity for everyone, sharing knowledge, answering questions and contributing to the education of children. The VV volunteer will help in caring for the children and their needs during the action, and also in the dynamics proposed throughout the visit, coordinated by our guest volunteer Luise Valentim.

  • ABOUT THE DESTINATION

Rio de Janeiro is one of the main Brazilian cities, famous for its beautiful beaches, the iconic Christ the Redeemer, at the top of Corcovado, and the Sugar Loaf with an enviable relief. The city is also known for its large favelas, for being the stage for large Carnival parties, and for having a summer climate almost all year round. Contrasting with all this, we also find a city where more than 2 million people live in poverty, placing Rio among the 10 most unequal metropolises in the world.

The Museum of Tomorrow is one of the main museums in the city of Rio, a  science museum, bringing an environment of ideas, explorations and questions about the time of great changes in which we live and the different paths that open to the future. Tomorrow is not a date on the calendar, it is not a place where we are going to arrive, but a construction in which we all participate, as people, citizens, members of the human species.

The Museum of Tomorrow offers a narrative about how we can live and shape the next 50 years. A journey towards possible futures, based on the great questions that Humanity has always asked itself. Where we came from? Who we are? Where are we? Where are we going? How do we want to go?
