VV Action Mindfulness RJ R$190.00
VV Action Mindfulness - RJ
This action aims to teach Mindfulness practices and their benefits to families in Baixada Fluminense, assisted by the Instituto Amparado project.
How about attending the VV Introduction to Humanitarian Aid Course and improving your performance even more?
WHAT WILL WE DO
In this VV action we will carry out activities that seek to bring greater interaction between children and their guardians. Our guest volunteer is Luiza Bittencourt who will teach the community practices of Mindfulness proposing a new relationship with what happens inside and around us, in a kinder, more conscious and open way. Mindfulness promotes self-knowledge, giving you the tools to deal with everyday challenges and your own emotions. Volunteers will be able to participate and help the community in the exercises throughout the action. And, in addition, they will participate in a meditation guided by Luiza.
Instituto Amparando, VV's partner in this Mission, has been working in Nova Iguaçu since 2017 to help educate and guide families and children in the Baixada, Rio de Janeiro. The institution's mission is to promote the empowerment of the assisted population through collective and integrated actions, going beyond meeting their basic needs, but also generating development, inclusion and social emancipation.
ABOUT THE DESTINATION
Rio de Janeiro is one of the main Brazilian cities, famous for its beautiful beaches, the iconic Christ the Redeemer, at the top of Corcovado, and the Sugar Loaf Mountain with an enviable relief. The city is also known for its large favelas, for being the scene of great carnival parties, and for a summer atmosphere almost all year round. Contrasting with all this, we also find a city where more than 2 million people live in poverty, placing Rio among the 10 most unequal metropolises in the world.
Thinking in this context and in partnership with Instituto Amparando and Luiza Bittencourt, mindfulness instructor, we prepared this action to bring mindfulness practices to this community and show its benefits and how it can be applied in everyday life.
SDGs
In order to generate a positive impact in a universal language, VV has the UN Sustainable Development Goals integrated into their respective strategic pillars and as decision-making.
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a global agenda adopted during the United Nations (UN) Summit on Sustainable Development in September 2015 consisting of 17 goals and 169 targets to be achieved by 2030.
